Although being rooted in Black Metal, but fortunately not limited by it, “Freitod” try to integrate influences from all melancholic varieties of Metal/Rock into their sound. Acoustic guitars, as well as clear vocals, entered this sound and listeners will be taken into new dimensions with other effects in the following releases.
The lyrics are based on personal sole sentiments - these seeming dramatised for some, but conceivable for many. Sorrow, memories, weltschmerz, dissolved bonds and the eternal, unfulfilled wish to remain in the protection of innocent youth are fundamental constituents of the bands lines.
The band name for its own should be interpreted as the positive, relieving alternative to end this life, this also being a literal meaning of the word “Freitod”.
After some considerations, “Freitod” decided to present themselves on stage as well. The first performances passed successfully. Thus, the band will henceforth conquer the sceneries of the world in regular intervals.
